Hiucif Rahim is a master surfboard shaper based in Gijon (North Spain). Originally from Brazil, Hiucif has been shaping surfcraft since 1975 and is regarded as one of the finest shapers in Europe.

From his humble workshop in Asturias, Hiucif oversees every stage of the surfboard making process, to provide custom boards that perform and respond well in the waves.

I was asked by Hiucif to work on a new design for his brand. The brief was clear: he wanted a lion as his mark, and the logo had to be clearly visible on a board and on merchandise. I produced a range of different decals to apply to his different models of surfboard (longboard, shortboard, retro, gun…etc.). I also made a t-shirt with the slogan “Know your shaper”.
